This evening in Florence, Italy, Givenchy is sending its spring/summer 2020 men’s collection down the runway. It’s a big event for the legendary French fashion house. Not only is it artistic director Clare Waight Keller’s first fashion show devoted to menswear, the setting—at the 96th edition of Pitti Uomo—is a brand new one for a label that calls Paris its home.
Keller took the reigns of both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear (plus haute couture) at Givenchy in 2017. A designer with a seriously impressive resume—she’s worked at Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Pringle of Scotland, and Chloé—she’s a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry. Oh, and one other thing: She designed the wedding gown Meghan Markle wore when she tied the knot with Prince Harry in a little event you may have heard about last year.
In other words: tonight’s Givenchy show is a pretty hot ticket. And Keller’s designs—sophisticated and luxurious, but rendered with an edge that makes them feel at home in the real world—are sure to impressive. If you care about the state of men’s fashion and where it’s going, this is the kind of event you don’t really want to miss.
But maybe you’re not in Italy rubbing elbows with industry insiders right now. (Don’t worry; no judgements.) Or maybe you’d just prefer to watch from the comfort of your own home or office. That’s where we come in: The entire show is being streamed live, so you can watch all of Keller’s creations come down the runway from anywhere in the world. Enjoy.
