Jason Momoa delivered a passionate address to protesters at the proposed Thirty Meter Telescope construction site on the sacred grounds at Mauna Kea in Hawaii.

The Aquaman star got choked up when he addressed the crowd, apologizing that it took him ‘so long to visit,’ according to Hawaii News Now

‘I’m so very honored to be here with my children and all my ohana here,’ Momoa began as he spoke to the gathered crowd.

‘We guided ourselves by the stars, we love science,’ the action star added about how his culture embraces science and technology.

‘It’s not because of that. It’s because of the desecration of our land,’ Momoa added. ‘With that, I’m interested in solutions.  

‘But there’s one thing that’s not gonna happen. And they’re not building it here,’ Momoa said, which lead to the crowd bursting into applause.

He recently celebrated the big day with a surprise party orchestrated by some of his closest friends, including Game of Thrones onscreen wife Emilia Clarke.

The event took place at the Rosewood Hotel in London, and he posted a video of the fun to his YouTube channel.
